Land Claim & Rent System — Full Guide
Our custom-built land claim system is live, and it works differently from what you might be used to. Instead of claiming a fixed area forever, RedShine uses a rent-based chunk system that keeps the world fair and prevents inactive players from hoarding valuable land.
How Claiming Works
Stand on any unclaimed chunk and type /claim to make it yours. Each claim is chunk-based (16x16 blocks). Want more space? Stand on an adjacent chunk and use /addchunk to expand. Your claim acts as one connected territory.
All Claim Commands
/claim— Claim the chunk you're standing on/addchunk— Add an adjacent chunk to your existing claim/unclaim— Remove a single chunk from your claim/dissolve— Delete your entire claim (careful!)/c show— Toggle particle borders around claims/c home— Teleport to your claim home (3s warmup, don't move!)/c sethome— Set your claim's home teleport point/c name <name>— Give your claim a custom name/c lock— Toggle container lock (chests, barrels, etc.)/c invite <player>— Allow someone to build in your claim/c kick <player>— Remove someone from your claim/c info— View your claim settings, invited players, and stats/invoice— See your full rent breakdown/payrent <amount>— Pay your rent ahead of time
The Rent System
Every chunk you claim costs a small daily rent in gold. The more chunks you hold, the more rent you owe. Check your balance and rent status with /invoice (also works with /rent or /rentinfo). If you fall behind on rent, you'll get warnings before anything happens — but keep your account topped up!
Visual Claim Borders
Toggle /c show and you'll see particle borders around claimed land as you walk. Green particles mark your own claims and claims you're invited to. Red particles mark other players' claims. This makes it instantly clear where you can and can't build.
Container Locking
By default, invited players can open your chests, barrels, and other containers. Use /c lock to toggle this — when locked, only the claim owner can access containers. Useful if you want to share building space but keep your loot private.
Max Chunks & Upgrades
Your maximum chunk count depends on your rank. Start small, rank up through gameplay, and expand your territory over time. Visit the upgrade station at spawn for details on rank requirements.
